Betty Joyce Whitley

LANCASTER, S.C.  Mrs. Betty Joyce Sanders Whitley age 93 formerly of West Meeting Street passed away Friday September 6, 2024 at the University Of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee where she had been living with her Daughter Sheree Giffin. Mrs. Whitey was born in Darlington S.C. December 24, 1930 a daughter of the late E.J. Sanders and Dovie Cassidy Sanders and wife of the late Henry Eugene Whitley.

She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Lancaster, and retired employee of Springs Industries in the Weaving Department of the Lancaster Complex.  Mrs. Whitley Graveside Funeral Service will be 10 A.M. Monday Morning September 9, 2024 at Lancaster Memorial Park with Rev. Larry Plyler officiating, with burial to follow.

Mrs. Whitley is survived by a daughter Sheree Lambert Giffin and husband Mike Giffin of Knoxville, Tennessee, 4 Grandchildren, James Lambert, Charlie Lambert, Chris Giffin and Michelle Hancock, and husband Jeremy Hancock 4 Great Grandchildren Jaylee Giffin, Hayden Giffin, Laiken Hancock, Aleiah Hancock. She was also survived by a special niece Sheila and Johnny Tolson of Hartsville, and close friends Arleen Herrick and Chris of Kershaw.

She was the last member of her siblings having been preceded in death by her parents ,her husband, a son James Lambert, a brother Harold Alton Sanders, a sister Earline Howle.
