GREAT FALLS, S.C. Mrs. Carolyn Perry Broome, 91, passed away on Saturday, July 6, at Lancaster Rehabilitation Center. She was born on July 26, 1932, in Chester County, SC, the daughter of the late Faye Hollis and Roddey Perry.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery
in Great Falls, with Reverend Marty Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends at the
cemetery following the service.
Carolyn was a godly woman who deeply loved her Lord, her family, and others. She was a
faithful servant, ministering to the homebound, the elderly, her neighbors, friends, and anyone in
need. She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Great Falls. During her
"retirement," she worked as a greeter at Wendy's for many years, where she made many friends who often visited her. She kept a running list of people she was praying for.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Maxcy Mills Broome, her two sons, Maxcy
Alexander Broome and Roddey Eugene Broome, and her sister, Barbara Brunson.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael Broome and Richard Broome, both of Great Falls; her
daughter, Carol Ann Roache (Kerry) of Winston-Salem, NC; eight grandchildren, Christi
Gardner, Brandy Cason (David), Jessica, Katelyn, Kristen, and Matthew Roache, Pagan Walker,
and Preston Broome; six great-grandchildren; her brother Kirby Joe Perry, and her sister Cynthia
Thomasson.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Carolyn to First Baptist Church of Great
Falls, SC, or Agape Hospice of Lancaster, SC.
