Carroll Keith " Buck" Sistare

Mr. Carroll Keith "Buck" Sistare age 97 husband of Mary Brown Hunter Sistare passed away peacefully Saturday morning March 22, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Buck was born in Lancaster County on Coot Sistare Road in the Buford Community, February 18, 1928.

The funeral services for Buck will be held in the chapel of Jerry Hartley Funeral Home, located at 684 Hubbard Drive, Lancaster, SC.

Buck's children and family members will be officiating the service.

The family visitation will be from 2-3 pm, Wednesday March 26, 2025, prior to the funeral service, at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home.

Burial Service will be private for family members immediately following the service in the Sistare's Family Cemetery.

Buck, as he was known by everyone, was the son Mr. Carl Frank Sistare and Mrs. Melitta Stogner and stepmother Bill Sistare.

Buck was married to his wife, Mary Brown, for 75 years. He was the founder and owner of Sistare Carpets which was established in 1960 and is still in operation today.  He was an avid hunter; he loved and respected the outdoors. Buck loved his family and enjoyed sharing his time with them recounting the past and entertaining everyone with his sharp sense of humor. The back porch was one of his favorite places to sit with his wife, his dog Tiki and cat Taz enjoying nature.

Buck served our country in the US Navy and was of the Baptist faith.

Buck is survived by his wife, Mary Brown, two sons, Mike Sistare and his wife Kathy, Tony Sistare and his wife Lori, four daughters Susie Richards and her husband Robert, Cynthia Catoe and her husband Stephen, Ella Howard and her husband Bryce, Hope Roscoe and her husband Paul.

Buck was blessed with fifteen grandchildren, Lori, Pam, Adam, Wesley, Lindsey, Trayce, Kristy, Jeremy, Keith, Cy, Hunter, Jesse, Morgan, Macy, and Kristy.

Nineteen great grandchildren, Mary Catherine, Bob, Christopher, Griggs, Tucker, Haven, JT, Kinsley, Rabon, Bradley, Charlie, Mac, Ansley, Everly, Graham, Dayton, Kyra, Michael and Tyler.

Buck is also survived by his two brothers, Billy Sistare and Joe Sistare and two sisters, Elizabeth Ligon and Deb Helms.

Buck was preceded in death by four sisters, Sarah Roscoe, Mary Lois Efrird, Teeny Valdez, and Louise "Sis" Hyatt and two brothers, John Henry Sistare and Bob Sistare
