Cynthia Kay Melton

Lancaster, SC Cynthia Kay Melton (Cindy) was born on March 28, 1959, in Lancaster, SC to the late Ollie Reynolds, Jr. and Mary Alice Deason Reynolds. She passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. She is preceded in death by her brother Bruce Reynolds. She was married to the love of her life, the late Dennis Ray Melton for over forty years. Cindy was a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church.

In her younger years, Cindy helped her father at his business, Reynolds's Garage, where she worked in the office. She was also employed by Herff Jones studio. Cindy volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Lancaster County SPCA. She loved volunteering with AWANA as a kitchen worker, and the Pleasant Dale Baptist Church Clothes Closet for many years where she worked closely with Nancy Whitaker who became a special friend of Dennis and Cindy's family. She was a selfless person who always saw the good in others and loved animals.

She leaves behind her niece, Karen Widenhouse (Mick) nephew, Chris Melton (Crystal) great nieces, Mallory and Liza Melton. Cousins- Larry Deason (Hollis), Linda Morgan (Larry), Cathy Adams, Vicky Caskey, Wayne Adams (Kathy), Elaine Boone, Jerome Outen (Stella), Gail Scharder (Clark), Wanda Taylor, Melinda Boone and Danielle Boone. She also leaves behind special friends, Frank and Judy Maree.

Cindy was more like family to Nancy and Robby Whitaker and their children, Devin Adams (Amber) and David Adams (Tenisha) She was Aunt Cindy to grandchildren Turner and Mordecai Adams. Because she had no children of her own, Cindy loved her adopted family very much. She also leaves behind her beloved pets, Charlie and Missy.

Visitation will be 11 AM Saturday February 01, 2025 at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home followed by Celebration of Life Service  at 12 PM at Jerry     Hartley Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cindy's memory to Wanye T Patrick Hospice House, 2275 India Hook Rd. Rock Hill, SC 29732
