LANCASTER, S.C. Mrs. Doris Bessie Barfield Burns, age 94 died Friday evening March 30, 2018 at the Lancaster Convalesent Center. The Graveside Funeral Service will be 1:00 P.M. Monday April 2, 2018 at Lancaster Memorial Park by Rev. Donald Tillman. The Visitation and gathering with family will be Saturday evening March 31, 2018 from 6-8-P.M. at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home, 684 Hubbard Drive 285-8000, Lancaster, S. C.Mrs. Burns was born September 4, 1923 in Lancaster County a daughter of the late Harvey Barfield and Hortence Threatt Barfield, and wife of the late James D. Burns. She retired from Cinderella Mills in Great Falls, and was a member of Springdell Baptist Church.Mrs. Burns is survived by a daughter Sandra Burns Williams and husband Morrison Williams of Lancaster, 9 Grandchildren,10 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great Great Grandchildren, 1 sister, Mrs. Jerri Ghent of Lancaster. Mrs. Burns was preceded in death by 2 sons Chris Burns and Jimmy Burns, and 1 granddaughter, Lisa Williams Beckham who died February 3, 2018 and 1 great granddaughter Kayden Burns.The family of Mrs. Burns suggest Memorial Contributions to Springdell Baptist Church, 1420 Springdell Church Road.JERRY HARTLEY FUNERAL HOME IS HONORED TO BE TAKING CARE OF MRS.
