Ms. Eula Mae was born August 27, 1924 to parents, James F. Moseley and Mary Jane Catoe Moseley. She was given the gift of two marriages in her lifetime. The first was to the father of her seven boys, the late William R Steele and the second was to the late Lawson D. Mangum Sr.
She retired from Springs Cotton Mill as a fabric weaver and then followed her love of caring for children to Jo's Day Care before settling into permanent retirement with Lawson in her later years.
She was a member of White Springs Baptist Church and spent much time there before her health limited her from going. Steadfast faith and love for the Lord comforted her most in these last years as well as the knowledge that she would one day be in HIS mighty presence, joining the loved ones that went ahead of her.
Ms Eula Mae was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, great Grandmother, and great great Grandmother. She is survived by three sons, Roger Steele(Dorothy) and Robbie Steele of Lancaster. Bruce Steele(Ann) of Georgetown, SC. Stepson, Lawson Mangum Jr.(Deborah). Stepdaughter, Marie Gardner. She has 12 surviving grandchildren, Karen, Crystal T, Chris, Kelly, Elizabeth, Michael, Angie, Crystal J, Shonda, Jake, Kevin, and Josh as well as many great grands, great great grands, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, Ms Eula Mae was preceded in death by four sons, Wayne Steele (Pat), Danny Steele (Becky), Bobby Steele, and Ricky Steele (Michelle). Stepson, Rick Mangum (Theresa), as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the last surviving sibling out of eleven brothers and sisters.
She was known for her southern cooking and hospitality. Always having a good old homemade biscuit, cornbread, or fatback on the dinner table for family members or neighbors that wanted to pull up a chair to share a meal or grab a bite was a must. In years past, she even spent time growing and canning her own vegetables ensuring she always had the key ingredients to a pot of homemade soup for anyone hungry for one of her many comfort food staples. A loving, soft spoken, kind, and christian woman that never said a harsh word about anyone and always greeted you with a beautiful smile and a warm hug is how she will be remembered. She loved her family dearly and will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.
