LANCASTER, S.C. Mrs. Frances Hester Laney Stevens age 72 died Tuesday May 21, 2019 at her home. The Funeral Services are 11: 00 Friday Morning May 24, 2019 at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home Chapel By the Rev. Melvin Keziah of Pageland, Burial will follow at Blackmon Cemetery off of Taxahaw Road, and Hwy # 601. The Family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday Evening at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home 684 Hubbard Drive Lancaster S.C. 285-8000. Mrs. Stevens was born March 30, 1947 in Chesterfield County a daughter of the late Minor Laney and Susie Knight Laney, and wife of the late Donald Edward Stevens. She retired from Springs Industries as a weaver, and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Pageland. Mrs. Stevens is survived by 1 son Tony Stevens of Monroe, N.C. 2 Daughters Phyllis Stevens Belk and husband James Belk of Lancaster, and Dorothy Stevens Gunthrope, and husband Tony Gunthrope of Heath Springs, 6 Grandchildren Jill, Jr, April, Megan, Heather, and A.J. 12 Great-Grandchildren. 2 Brothers, Bill Laney, and Roy Laney, and 1 Sister Carolyn Oliver. Mrs. Stevens was pre-ceded in death by 4 Brothers, Pete Laney, Will Laney, Richard Laney, and Edward Laney, and 4 Sisters Katheryn Outen, Lessie Hargett, Louise Nichols, and Joanne West.
