Henry Melton Broughton

LANCASTER, S.C. Mr. Henry M. Broughton age 86 husband of Mrs. Jo Anne Barker Broughton died Friday October 9, 2020 at MUSC Lancaster. The Funeral Service will be 2 P.M. Monday October 12, 2020 at Jerry Hartley Funeral Chapel by Rev. Dr. Brian Saxon, burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park with military honors. The Visitation with the Broughton Family will be from 1-2 P.M Monday at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home 684 Hubbard Drive, Lancaster, S.C. 29720. Mr. Broughton was a lifetime Mason. He was a caring and giving person and his wife JoAnne was the love of his life. He loved Daytona Beach and his antique 1931 model car. Mr. Broughton was born in Kershaw April 5, 1934 a son of the late Furman (Doc) and Eva Williams Broughton and was married to Jo Anne Barker Broughton. He retired as a loom fixer from Springs Industries after 46 years, a member of Second Baptist Church loved gardening, and giving what he grew away to friends and neighbors. He loved bird watching, and he served our Great Country in the U.S. Navy. He Graduated from Kershaw High School Class of 1953. Mr. Broughton is survived by his wife of 66 years Jo Anne Barker Broughton, 1 Daughter Pamela Broughton Kay , 1 brother Furman Broughton, 1 sister Shirley Phillips, and Special Friend Joey Steen (almost like a son) and his furry Friend Bella Broughton. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Broughton was pre-ceded in death by 1 brother Hillard Broughton, and 1 sister Verda Mae Roberts.
