LANCASTER. S.C. Senior Chief Petty Officer (E-8) James Max Pepper age 82 died Sunday May 2, 2021 at MUSC Lancaster. The Funeral Services are 11 A.M. Thursday May 6, 2021 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, S.C. with burial to follow. Mr. Pepper was born January 4, 1939 in East St Louis Illinois a son of James Pepper and Thelma BrensonPepper, and was married to Janice Pepper. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 24 Years of Service having obtainedthe rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer, and a member of Covenant Baptist Church. Mr. Pepper is survived by his wife Janice Pepper 3 Sons, James Mark Pepper and wife Sonya Pepper,John Pepper and wife Lisa, and Daniel Pepper and wife Tricia, 1 Daughter Jennifer Parshall and husband Bill, 15 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, and 1 on the way, 2 sisters Sharon Wheeler and husband Alvin, and Janis Ross and husband Ron Ross, 2 preceded in death Marilyn Griner and Susan Cockrell.
