James "Pete" Patrick McCorkle Jr.

Lancaster, SC. James Patrick “Pete” McCorkle, Jr., 56, went home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of February 6, 2026, surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home.

Pete was a man who never met a stranger. His warm smile, easy conversation, and genuine kindness made everyone feel welcome. He did not judge others, but instead loved people as they were — a reflection of the love he had for Jesus.

He was a devoted father and proud grandfather. He is survived by his sons, James “Trint” McCorkle and Bradley McCorkle (Aynsleigh). He was especially proud of his two grandsons, Wyatt and Parker, who brought him immeasurable joy.

Pete is also survived by his sisters, Linda Lowery (Roger), Libby Horne (Chris), Alisa Etters (John), and Chucky Etters (Carla). He is reunited in heaven with his beloved brother, Robbie McCorkle; his mother, Linda Etters; and his father, Pat McCorkle.

He will be deeply missed by many extended family members - cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles - and special friends Tony and Trey, and many others who will carry his memory in their hearts.

Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. followed by A celebration of Pete’s life at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home, 684 Hubbard Drive, Lancaster, SC 29720. He will be laid to rest at Lancaster Memorial Park. Pete’s laughter and stories will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
