Joanne Barker Broughton

Lancaster, S.C, Mrs. Joanne Barker Broughton, age 89, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, at her home surrounded by her daughter and friends.

Visitation is 12 PM-1 PM Thursday July 30, 2026, at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 1 PM at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mrs. Broughton was born on December 27, 1936, in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of the late Wade Barker and Ella Coker Barker. Mrs. Broughton was the devoted wife of the late, Henry M Broughton. Mrs. Broughton is lovingly survived by her devoted daughter, Pamela Broughton Kay, her loving sister-in-law Shirley Roberts, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is survived by Joey Steen, who was like a son to her;  and Andrew Steen who lovingly was a great caretaker and companion and became like a grandson to her.

Joanne was a woman of strong Christian faith and a beautiful reflection of her love for the Lord, and those around her. She was a kind soul with a loving heart. Joanne retired from Springs Industries, Lancaster Plant, Cloth Room after forty plus years.
