LANCASTER, SC Mr. John Harvey Bailey age 76 died Wednesday October 19, 2016 at his home . Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Friday October 21, 2016 at The Jerry Hartley Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Kenneth Cauthen, and Chaplain Deiter of Hospice with burial to follow at Douglas Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The Visitation with the family will be from 2-3 P.M. at The Jerry Hartley Funeral Home 684 Hubbard Drive Lancaster, SC. Mr Bailey was born August 25 1940 in Lancaster County a son of the late Heyward William Bailey Sr. and Dorothy Beatrice Gunner Bailey and was married to Carolyn Steele Bailey. Mr Bailey retired from Construction and Farming and was a member of Douglas Presbyterian Church.Harvey is survived by his wife of almost 60 years Carolyn Bailey of the home, 1 son Charles Bailey and wife Teresa Bailey of Lancaster, 2 Brothers H.W. Bailey Jr. and wife Grace Bailey and Thomas J. Bailey both of Lancaster, 3 sisters Betty Gilmer and husband Robert of Kershaw, Macille Broome, and Dorothy Ann Johnson and husband Lewis both of Columbia, grandchildren include A.J. Bailey, Aaron Lee Bailey and Paul Geiter and wife Holly, and great-grandchildren Hannah and Noah Geiter. Mr. Bailey was pre-ceded in death by a daughter Rhenda Marie Bailey The Family suggest memorials to be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice of Lancaster with kindest regards to Chaplain Deiter, Michelle, Monica, Allison, Kiesha, Trina, Barbara, Valerie, and Angella.
