INDIAN LAND. S.C. , SC Mr. John Hubert Ervin, age 93 born June 25, 1933, in Lancaster, South Carolina, passed away on September 3, 2026. He will be remembered with love and gratitude by those who knew him and shared in his life. Family and friends are invited to gather on September 5, 2026 from 10-11 A.M. at Osceola Methodist Church 6675 Charlotte Highway Lancaster, S.C. 29720. The Funeral Service will be at 11 AM with burial to be in the church cemetery.

John leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory forward. He is survived by his daughters, Johnsie Moore and Karen Lee, and by his son, David Kitchen. He is also survived by his brother Rev. David Ervin, as well as his sons-in-law, Richard Moore and Sidney Lee, and his daughter-in-law, Cheryl Kitchen; one sister in law Betty Ervin.  His family circle also includes six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, whose lives are part of the legacy he leaves behind.  They called him Paw Paw John and may their memories of him bring comfort in the days ahead and keep his spirit close in the years to come.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa R Ervin; his father, Oliver Tillman Ervin, and his mother, Carrie Rebecca Shaw Ervin; One granddaughter Rebecca Lynn Hilton,  his brothers, Tillman Ervin, Archie Ervin, Baxter Ervin, and Grady Ervin; his sisters, Annie Stewart and Polly Collins; his sisters-in-law, Sarah Ervin, Joyce Ervin, Frances Ervin, Judy Ervin and his brothers-in-law, Paul Stewart and Olin Collins.

John Hubert Ervin’s life touched his family and community, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
