Laura Oneida Hunter Grier

LANCASTER, S.C. Mrs. Laura Oneida Hunter Grier age 95 died Sunday June 6, 2021 at her home. The Funeral Service will be 3 P.M., Wednesday June 9,2021 at Trinity United Methodist Church by Rev. Ricki Phipps, Rev. Tony Adams and Rev. Keith Walters. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home, 684 Hubbard Drive, Lancaster, S.C. Mrs. Grier was born January 23, 1926 in Lancaster County. The daughter of the late Henry Spofford Hunter and Dora CarolineBaker Hunter. She was married to the late Robert Eugene Grier. She retired from Springs Industries and after her retirement, went to work for McCrays Flower Shop for 35 years. She created a bond with the owner, Linda McCray, as a special friend. Mrs. Grier is survived by son Joe Grier (Sara) and daughter Libby Grier Steele (Johnny). Grandchildren are Tammy Grier Echols (Billy), Pamela Grier Ledbetter (Duane). Melissa Steele Rollings (Jeff), Tonya Steele McNabb. Great grandchildren are Joshua Low, Daphne Honeycutt, Alexas Hinson (Austin), Cooper Ledbetter, Steven Ledbetter, Dena Orrell, Jonathan Rollings, Zackery Rollings, Avarie McNabb, Kade McNabb and Beau McNabb. Great-great grandchildren are Nicholas Orrell, Natalie Orrell, Logan Orrell and Alexas is expecting twins in the fall, sisters Mary Rollings,and Robbie Ann Walters.Mrs. Grier was preceded in death by her siblings Leon Hunter, Randolph Hunter, C.B. Hunter Alton "Sirt" Hunter, Frances Mothershed,Bobbie Jean Connors, and Sarah Hunter. The family suggests memorial contributions to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1664 Flat Creek Rd. Lancaster, S.C. Her Sunday school class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Oneida is in the care of Jerry Hartley Funeral Home. .
