LINDA DARLENE GOOCH WILLIAMS

October 9, 1946 – December 2, 2025

Linda Darlene Gooch Williams of Lancaster, SC passed away Tuesday, December 2 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC at the age of 79.

Visitation is 1- 2 PM Saturday December 06, 2025, at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home, the funeral service will be at 2 PM at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Douglas Presbyterian Church Cemetery

Linda was born on October 9, 1946, in Lancaster, SC to Edward Crawford Gooch, Jr. and Ruth (Starnes) Gooch. She lived in Lancaster her entire life, she attended Lancaster High School and completed Cosmetology school in Charlotte, NC. She and her husband Jimmy Roger Williams enjoyed 59 years of marriage.Linda had two children and one grandson. They were the light of her life, and her and Jimmy provided a strong foundation for them all. Linda was a member of Douglas Presbyterian Church in Lancaster and also attended New Hope Baptist Church. She had a spirit for giving and loved southern gospel music. She spent many years working as a Cosmetologist, a job she enjoyed immensely as she was able to get to know her customers. She also retired from Duracell.

Linda loved spending time with family and friends – often at the beach – but any time spent with her children and grandson were special moments. One of her passions was working with crafts, of which she was highly skillful. (If you were fortunate, you might have been gifted one of her beautiful creations!). Another of her favorite pastimes was working any kind of puzzle. She possessed a tremendous love for life, laughed often, and had a wonderful sense of humor. She lit up any room she was in with her infectious smile and laughter. Always the life of any social gathering.

Linda is survived by her husband Jimmy; son, Jimmy Scott Williams; daughter, Keta Williams Carter and husband John Harrison Carter; grandson, Derrick Connor Stogner and wife Adelinne Buchanan Stogner; sister, Diane Gooch Faulkner and husband William Edwin Faulkner; brother, Dewey Danford Mincey (Danny); sister-in-law Billie Ruth Gooch; and many nieces and nephews along with great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charles Edward Gooch.

Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, family member, and friend.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital.
