KERSHAW, S.C. - Mrs. Lucille Owens, age 103, died Thursday, December 22, 2022, at The Legacy in Camden, SC. Born Annie Lucille Pitts on August 30, 1919, she was the oldest child of Henry and Thelma Knight Pitts in Buffalo, SC. She and Harry Reese Owens were married April 24, 1936, until his death November 16, 1987. After retirement from Springs Mills in Kershaw, Mrs. Owens traveled and spent time with family. She enjoyed antique shops, gardening, and sharing her talents of crafting and cooking with her grands. She was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church having served many roles including a Sunday School teacher and a VBS teacher. Surviving are her children, Jerry (Glenda) Owens, Steve (Jane) Owens, Sarepta (Charles) Morgan, Gay Robinson, Sandra Parker, Harry Reese Owens, Jr.; and her sister, Margaret Tucker. Mrs. Owens is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her youngest daughter, Harriett (Billy) Threatt; grandsons, Leslie Alan Faile and Andy Lee Morgan; great grandson, Daniel Franklin Parker Sullivan; sister, Alma Lucas; and brother, Woodrow Pitts. Pallbearers will be grands Chuck Morgan, Chad Adams, John Ross Owens, Joseph Mathis, Chance Faile, Chandler Parker, Cash Wilson, and Kenneth Dixon Jr. A celebration of life for Mrs. Owens will be held Saturday, at 11 a.m. on December 31, 2022, at Bethany Baptist Church, 3089 Youngs Park Dr, Westville, SC 29175. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church for the Lottie Moon Missions. The family will receive friends after the Committal Service in the Bethany Baptist Church Fellowship Center. The Funeral Services will be Directed by Jerry Hartley Funeral Home 684 Hubbard Dr. in Lancaster, S.C. 803-285-8000. .
