LANCASTER, S.C. Mrs. Merlie H. Ward age 93 died Saturday evening June 9, 2018 at White Oak Manor. Mrs. Ward was embalmed, placed in a Cremation Wood Casket for Viewing and Visitation, and it was her request to be Cremated with no additional Services. The Visitation and greeting with the family and friends will be from 6-8 P. M. Tuesday Evening at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home 684 Hubbard Drive in Lancaster.She was born in Grundy, Virginia a daughter of the late Australia Justice and Winnie Davis Justice, and was preceded in death by her husband Tom Crockett.She was the Owner/Operator of a Merle/Norman Studios in Florida and also Great Falls, S.C. and she was of the Baptist Faith.She is survived by 2 Children Daughter, Ruth Thomas, and husband Joey of Great Falls, and Son, Devan Hoke, and wife Renee Hoke of Fort Mill, S.C. 5 Grandchildren Ruthie McManus, Doug Gates, John Gates, Jr. Bryan Gates, and Ashley Eargle, 18 Great-Grandchildren, 7 Great- Great-Grandchildren, 2 sisters Blanche Crockett, and Linda Walters, 4 Half Brothers, Bill Justus, Sam Justus, Roger Justus, and Bob Justus, and 3 Half Sisters, Timmy Joe Morris, Jackie Smith, and Jewel Aguilar.
