CLIO, S.C. Mr. Oscar " Ponch " Villanueva age 72 died Wednesday Afternoon January 30, 2019 at his home in Clio, S.C. The Funeral Services are 3 P.M. Saturday February 2, 2019 at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home Chapel, with Visitation from 2 To 3 P.M. He was born August 1, 1946 in Alice, Texas a son of the late Ignacio Villanueva, and Maria Gomez Villanueva, and was married to Linda Shute Villanueva. He is survived by his wife Linda, 3 Daughters Jennifer Villanueva and Grace Villanueva both of Texas and Brandy Shute-Rhoney and husband Rico Rhoney of Lancaster, 1 Son Michael Scott Walden of Lancaster, Grandchildren include Tahjion Rhoney, Ziyon Rhoney, Malon Rhoney, Tyler, Maria, Dominick, Cecilia (CC) and Sophia. and 1 Great Grand-Daughter Olivia. He was preceded in death by a son Kenny Joe, and a daughter Kimberly Valquez, and also had Several Siblings that preceded him in death. Oscar had many accomplishments in his music field, having played on American Band Stand as Ricky V. He also Played with Sunny and the Sunliners, and also inducted into the Tejano Music Hall Of Fame.
