Richard 'Dick' C. Graves

Richard "Dick" C. Graves passed away on May 27, 2021 at the age of 78, surrounded by his family. Dick was born on June 22, 1942 in Richmond, Virginia to Clovis and Esther Graves. He grew up in Pageland, South Carolina and graduated from PagelandHigh School. He then earned a Bachelors Degree from Clemson University and a Masters Degree from Golden Gate University. He served twenty years in the UnitedStates Air Force and retired in Lancaster, South Carolina. He enjoyed playing golf with his friends and grandsons in Pageland. As an avid fan of Clemson Football,he never missed a game. He was larger-than-life, with a fabulous sense of humor, and endless love for his family. Dick was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of over 56 years, Margaret Medlin Graves of Lancaster, SC; his daughters and their spouses, Sandy and Russell Swaney of Charlotte, NC, andMarty and Christopher Ross of Charlotte, NC; his grandsons, Ryan Swaney, Holden and Rebekah Ross, Clayton Ross, and Corbin Ross, all of Charlotte, NC; his brother and spouse, Donald and Lorna Graves of Fort Mill, SC; sister-in-law,Martha Watson of Pageland, SC; and daughter-in-law, Donna Graves ofLancaster, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovis and Esther Graves;his son, Scott Graves; and grandson, Alex Swaney. A graveside ceremony will be held 11 am Thursday June 03, 2021 at Graves Family Cemetery in Pageland, S.C. by Rev. Larry King Pastor of Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Lancaster, S.C.
