Jerry Hartley

Owner, Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer SC#1421 DUAL

I was born in Lancaster, S.C. A 1966 graduate of Lancaster Senior High School studied at the University of South Carolina and graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, GA. class of 1974. I am licensed and Certified by the National Board of Funeral Service, which allows me to practice embalming and funeral directing in any state of our great country. I studied Human Eye Enucleation at the Medical University of South Carolina School of Medicine. A veteran of Vietnam 1968 & 1969 having served with the 101st Airborne Division from DaNang to The DMZ which is the border to North Vietnam. We live in a great country and thanks to all veterans who have come before and after me.

I served my apprenticeship and worked for 15 years with one of the local firms in Lancaster, SC as their embalmer and funeral director before buying my own funeral home at the age of 32 in Calhoun Falls, SC. I sold after 12 years and moved back to our hometown in Lancaster where me and my wife Joanne Hartley built Hartley Funeral Home at 1800 Charlotte Hwy in 1994. We sold that firm to the present owner and retired ten years ago. I got tired of retirement and after having a 3 year non compete contract with the new owner I opened the present location at 684 Hubbard Drive in 2016 and went back to work. Joanne & I have been married for 46 years. We have 3 children Melissa, Mike and Brenner, 5 grandchildren and 2 grand grandchildren.

Come by and visit anytime and see what is offered, and make your pre-plan funeral services. My time is your time. I enjoy all sports, but my hobby is working and taking care of families.

Whether it be complete funerals, or cremation we are the most Affordable, Personal, Professional, Dignified Funeral Home anywhere. Regardless of your budget I can help you have a dignified funeral service or cremation.
